A Zoho CRM workflow is not triggering: four checks

Check the event, conditions and history before recreating the rule.

Reviewed 14 October 2026 · HubZo Help

Check the rule and record

Identify the module, expected action and one affected record. Check that the relevant rule is active and visible; filters can hide rules and some may be inactive or archived.

Compare the trigger and criteria

Look at both the event that should start the rule and the conditions the record must satisfy. Check how the record was changed: an import, manual edit or connected tool may behave differently. Imported records do not trigger rules by default unless the relevant import option is selected.

Check whether the action failed

A rule not starting and an action failing are different problems. Review the record timeline and any function or webhook errors. Permissions and email integration can also affect the path.

Do not replay blindly

A replay may repeat a message or update that already completed. Check the original run and a safe test case first. If customer-facing actions, custom functions or several connected apps are involved, agree the next step before changing the rule.
